Midsummer is the perfect time for re-queening a hive. As long as there is a strong nectar flow, the queen will continue to lay eggs, both drone and worker bees. Once the pollen flow slows, she’ll cut back on egg laying anticipating a reduced hive size for the colder months. A new queen will revive the hive and give them a strong start the following spring.
