Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Baking Time: 25–30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
4 ripe pears (Bosc or Anjou work well), halved and cored
-
2 tbsp Honey in the Hollow Bee Farm honey
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
-
1 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
-
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for topping)
-
1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place a piece of parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish.
-
Cut the pears in half, removing the cores. Arrange them cut side up in the prepared baking dish.
-
Make the Honey in the Hollow Bee Farm honey Cinnamon Mixture:
-
In a small bowl, mix together the Honey in the Hollow Bee Farm honey, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and vanilla extract (if desired). Drizzle this mixture over the pear halves, making sure to coat each pear evenly.
-
Place a small piece of butter on top of each pear half. This will help the pears caramelize and stay moist during baking.
-
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake the pears in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, until they are tender but still hold their shape. If you like a softer texture, bake for an additional 5 minutes, checking every few minutes.
-
Once baked, remove the pears from the oven. If using, sprinkle the chopped walnuts or pecans over the top for added crunch and flavor. Serve warm, and enjoy this cozy dessert on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
