Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Sweet and Spicy Honey Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)

  • 1 tbsp Sriracha (adjust to taste for spice level)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Chopped fresh cilantro

  • Lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, Sriracha, garlic, ginger, and lime juice. Set aside.

  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

  4. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the honey glaze mixture into the same skillet. Stir and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. If desired, add the cornstarch mixture and cook for another minute to achieve a thicker consistency.

  5. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly in the glaze. Cook for another 1–2 minutes to heat through.

  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve immediately with lime wedges. Pair with steamed rice, quinoa, or a fresh salad.
